The Rutland Arms Hotel, is set in the magnificent town of Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The hotel occupies an imposing position in the main square and offers a hint of Georgian elegance and charm. From the reception and fireside areas to some bedrooms with 4 poster beds and a magnificent ballroom, the hotel exudes an historical air. Jane Austen is reputed to have stayed here in 1811 whilst revising Pride and Prejudice. The famous Bakewell Pudding originated from a mistake made by a maid working in the kitchens of the Rutland Arms.
